Bathing and practicing sports 

Due to the large number of beaches with water temperature around 26°C year round, Salvador is considered a paradise for water-sport enthusiasts. Among others, diving, sailing, stand up paddle, canoeing, windsurfing, kite-surfing and surfing itself can be enjoyed at almost every beach of the capital’s coast line.

Nature

Salvador has large areas of environmental preservation that includes a Zoobotanic center with 18 hectares, with a wide range of preserved species. In addition, for those who enjoy nature, there are also the ecological reserves of Pituaçu at the neighborhood with the same name and São Bartolomeu, in Pirajá, respectively with 425 hectares and 1.550 hectares.

The 50 kilometers of natural beauty of the Salvador cost line provide options for those who want sporting activities, the stiring of the beautiful people or just relaxing and watching a sunset.


Amaralina Beach

This is a beach with a long strip of sand that allows the practice of several sports. Bathing is not recommended due to strong waves that can be enjoyed by surfers.

Porto da Barra Beach

One of the ten best urban beaches in the world, according to the British newspaper The Guardian, Porto da Barra is a small beach with calm, clear waters, a bucolic landscape and frequent goers.

Situated just a few meters from the Farol da Barra is the preferred meeting place for the alternative public. Great for sports, the beach brings together practitioners of various modalities. SUP (Stand-Up Paddle) lessons, rental of equipment and canoeing are also offered.


Beach of Buracão

The paradisiac beach of Buracão is the favorite among artists. Its assiduous goers look for freedom, respect, and peaceful coexistence between people. Bathing in the warm and crystal clear sea cannot be missed.

Flamengo Beach

Extensive lines of palm trees, warm waters and strong waves for surfers are the main attractions of Praia do Flamengo. Located on the border of the city of Salvador with the nearby municipality of Lauro de Freitas, the beach is the meeting spot of the city's younger crowd.

Itapuã Beach

This is the beach that inspired the poetry and the music of Dorival Caymmi and cradled the summers of Vinicius de Moraes. The waters are very suitable for windsurfing, Stand-Up Paddle, fishing and diving. At the end of the beach stands the beautiful Itapuã Lighthouse which is always worth a visit.

Ribeira Beach

This is a calm sea cove that is very lively on weekends. The various restaurants and bars mainly attract the residents of the neighborhood.
