Public Security

The main sights of Salvador receive reinforcements with Tourist Policing of the Specialized Battalion of Tourist Police (Beptur), officers are at the service of the population.

Skilled policemen with operational English, history of the city's monuments, tourism, citizenship and public safety, are qualified to work in receptive, guaranteeing the well-being of visitors in touristic places. The battalion already has a contingent of policemen prepared to serve, if necessary.

The task force have Specialized Units and Independent Companies and aims to reinforce the actions and operations against robbery and violence in traffic, bus stops and bus stations; in addition to the Municipal Guard, to protect the goods, services and facilities of the Municipal Government and to contribute to the prevention of violence against citizens in Salvador.

From above, the Air Group supports policing by keeping aircraft positioned closest to ground police teams in performing victim rescue activities, enhancing visibility with landings at strategic locations, and air patrolling in general.
